Thursday, September 16 **Note Registration Time Change** Registration will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will pick up your registration packet, agenda, and pre-purchased souvenir glass at that time. Each person attending a Gala function will be charged a one time registration fee of $25.00 for “Early” registration and $30.00 after August 15th. Children age 12 and under are registered for free. Authentic Kansas City Barbecue Party (Badge Required) in the Hospitality Suites 219/220 from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. Glass ID (Badge Required) is at 7:00 pm, so be sure to bring your glass to be identified. Melvin Lampton, Tom Smith & Nick Duncan will provide the expertise.Our Display, “Cameo & Sandcarved” (Badge Required) is provided by the members of Fenton Finders of Greater Kansas City. This display will feature over 100 pieces that were produced by Fenton Art Glass Company from the 1980's through current, also Pilgrim Glass Company and Gibson Glass Company.Friday, September 17 The morning seminar (Badge Required) will have as our speakers, John and Ann Fenton of Fenton Collectibles speaking on "Building a Hot Glass Studio." Fenton's Collectibles was established in 1996 by Ann & John Fenton. Ann is the brains and John is the brawn. With lots of hard work the store became the #1 Fenton dealer in the nation. With this goal met, they bought a building on the interstate, expanded their website and started a little hot glass studio. With friends like Dave Fetty, Ronnie Dick and the Fenton family, the studio is becoming much more than just a place to demonstrate handmade art glass being made. Come to the seminar to hear the details!!The luncheon (Badge Required) speaker is Kelsey Murphy of Studios of Heaven. Kelsey is a very accomplished Cameo Glass Artist/Carver. At her studio in southern West Virginia, Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp collaborate in designing remarkable works of art for production in distinctive Fenton glass colors. She may provide some hints on what we can expect to see coming from Fenton in the future.Later Friday afternoon, there will be a review of the Individual Display Tables. Friday evening is the Seminar (Badge Required) on our Fenton Art Glass Display “Cameo & Sandcarved” followed by Viewing of the Auction Glass. An auction of good quality Fenton glass will be offered. No Badge Required. The Public is welcome to attend the Auction. After the auction, all glass displays will be taken down. Saturday evening at 6:00 pm is the Banquet (Badge Required) with Kelsey Murphy again as our speaker.Door Prize Drawings will be held for many pieces of high quality Fenton Art Glass. (Winning will be limited to one per household.) After the Banquet is the Whimsey Auction.Glass for Sale in your Room You are encouraged to sell Fenton Glass from your room. We plan lots of time for “shopping the rooms.” The hotel has tables available for $20.00 each for length of stay. Please bring your own table covers and/or skirting unless you would prefer the hotel to furnish white tablecloths. The tables are 30 inches wide by 72 inches long. Individuals Displays You are encouraged to set up a display table. Full table displays are requested with identification required as education is one of the keys to enjoying our glass passion. Choose your own theme. Please indicate on your registration form if we should reserve a display table for you as our available space permits only 19 display tables. Tables are 30 inches wide by 72 inches long. You may bring your own table covers and skirting or the hotel will provide them. Set up will be Friday at 7:00 am to 9:00 am in main Display room. For security purposes, plan to turn in a list of your display glass before your display is set up.Special GALA Souvenirs 2010! We have (Shiny) Ruby & White Alley Cats that are to be sold at the Gala. You can pre-order to be shipped after the Gala (any that are still available at that time). Your check will not be cashed or your credit card will not be run until we know if we can fill your order. We will also have some Satin Ruby & White Alley Cats that will be sold at the Gala by lottery. You must attend the Gala to have an opportunity to buy a Satin Alley Cat! We now take Discover Card in addition to Visa & MasterCard. !!! Important Hotel Information !!! If you need to cancel your hotel room reservation, please call our Gala Committee Hotel Contact Person, Joy Livengood at (913) 782-9699 or alohajoy@sbcglobal.net so that we won’t lose a Gala Rate blocked room. Rooms on the Second Floor (to sell glass) are First Come, First Serve. You still call the hotel for your room reservation first. The Hotel has blocked rooms for us on the 2nd Floor and the 4th Floor. Also, let Joy know if you would prefer a Smoking Room (3rd Floor). She will do her best to accommodate you. We cannot guarantee the room of your choice! Embassy Suites – This is such a great hotel for the Gala! There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. At the airport, just pick up the Embassy Suites phone (in the Baggage Pickup area) to call the shuttle. Parking is free! All rooms are two room suites with a king size bed or two double beds and the sofa folds out for another bed. There is a Cooked-to-Order Breakfast with Buffet from 6:30 am to 9:30 am weekdays & 7:00 am to 10:30 am weekends. And to top it off, a free Cocktail party every evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.Additional Questions?
